My nephew Timmy had a concert in Providence today, which I unfortunately couldn't attend because I have too much work to catch up on for this week (just three weeks left in the semester, gah!). It's looking like we're going to have the first hefty snowfall of the winter tonight and tomorrow, and "hefty" is going to be an understatement. They're still predicting 20-30", locally more.

Man, did it snow a lot. We officially have 34.3 inches of snow here! Milford, just 15 minutes down I-95, got 38 inches! That's nuts. I had a feeling we'd get hit harder here than Northampton and Boston ( Read more... )

Our beloved movie rental had a nice cover piece in the New Haven Register. The owner has it exactly right: the personal interaction, with recommendations and a genuine sense of movie love, are exactly what keeps me coming back there (even though we have plenty of our own movies to watch).

I found this website a couple months ago called The Atlantic Cities. I think I was looking for this article I once read about the increased hazards to everyone else (regular car drivers, bicyclists, pedestrians) from SUVs being on the road.
